About:
Founded in the summer of 2014, Peter & Co. began as a solo project exploring improvisation presented as site embedded works in public places -- from the Santa Barbara County Courthouse to Claes Oldenburg & Coosje van Bruggen's Cupid's Span in San Francisco, and as far east as the Cleveland Museum of Art. A number of solos premiered in tandem with Dance Anywhere (2014, 2015) and Bay Area Dance Week (2014, 2015). The full company's first world premiere Off the Cuff (2014) toured throughout the Bay Area to various festivals and was awarded sjDANCEco's Audience Choice Award during Fall 2014 ChoreoProjects. Peter & Co. has since presented work at SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts' RAW (Resident Artist Workshop), ODC's Take 5, The Garage, PUSHfest, Gnosis Dance's DFAD Benefit Concert, and sjDANCEco Fest. In 2015 the company grew their viewership to over 5,000 audience members through a combination of ticketed and free performances both within traditional proscenium theaters and outdoor venues. Peter & Co. was featured in SF Arts Monthly's Top Ten Dance Picks in February of 2016 for their co-directed evening Exchange/Engage with ka·nei·see | collective, boasting two sold out evenings and acclaim for "...Collaboration. Risk-taking. Experimentation. Pushing the envelope...[and] fuel[ing] new contemporary dance." -- Heather Desaulniers (Critical Dance).
