New Highland Academy

On Dance Anywhere Day I arrived at New Highland Academy in East Oakland. Every child and teacher K-5 was out on the field.

Even some parents stopped by for the celebration! For fifteen minutes everyone danced together in the sunshine. Kindergarten teachers held hands with their students and twirled in a circle, while fourth grade boys showed off a choreographed dance and the school principle led an all-ages conga line! It was a joyful celebration of dance and community.
