Kim Epifano and Epiphany Productions will dance anywhere® on Mary Street, an alley lined with chalkboards in downtown San Francisco. Kim chose to perform in this space as it is near her office, and she would like to do more performance work that explores her own neighborhoods. “I am excited to drop into the neighborhood on another layer- Its a buzz”. Epiphany Productions will begin rehearsing this week, and as they do so, Kim is asking a variety of questions about her neighborhood and the alley they will inhabit. “I’m wondering how to bring action to the alley. Who will be there and what will show up organically? What will occur energetically?”.
Kim will be participating in dance anywhere® this year because she perceives that the event is very much in line with her own commitment to site-specific performance. “I love site-specific performance and connecting people around the world. It’s exciting when people come together to dance, locally and internationally”.
Each October Bay Area dance enthusiasts flock to the San Francisco Muni trolleys to be transported through a unique site-specific dance festival. Kim Epifano of Epiphany Productions curates Trolley Dances, hosting an array of site-specific dance and performance artists at trolley stops throughout the city.
