About:
I began dancing and performing at the age of six in my hometown, Redding, California. All four years of high school I performed, competed, and traveled with an elite singing and dancing group, Enterprise Starship, which gave me countless opportunities and experiences. I attended the University of Oregon, receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. While at Oregon I was deeply involved in the School of Music and Dance. I performed in many UO dance concerts, and was one of three dancers to perform in the School of Music and Dance's production of the Opera, The Magic Flute. I also performed, led master classes, and toured as a member of the University of Oregon Repertory Dance Company for two years. After graduating from the University of Oregon, I moved to New York City to further my dance education, training, and performing. I was on staff at Dance New Amsterdam, and trained, danced and performed with varous wonderful artists, including Katiti King and Susan Marshall & Company. While training at Dance New Amsterdam, I studied and rapidly fell in love with Simonson Technique. Created and developed by Lynn Simonson, the Simonson Method recognizes dancer's atomical indivduality and helps them train in an intelligent and somatically aware way. I knew right away this was a technique I wanted to teach and spread to any dancer I could. Through October and November 2011 I was trained and certified by Lynn Simonson. I have been blessed to move back to California to continue my dance adventure performing, choreographing, and teaching dance classes based on Simonson Technique. I currently reside in San Francisco, teaching, taking classes, and continuing my own dance research projects. I co-founded WestBody: An Inter-State Dance Collective. I sub dance classes and work in Dance Administration/Reception at Roco Dance & Fitness, and choreograph for Marin Primary & Middle School.
